What is self storage? Self Storage is a service that offers both residential and businesses users access to individual secure storage space. The storage rooms Instant Storage offers are secure, clean and dry and are accessible 7 days a week. Instant Storage strives to offer a solution to each situation. What does it cost? The cost of a storage room depends on the size you need. We suggest you use our online size estimator to determine the room size that fits your need. You can then follow the process and find out the rental rate for that room. Your room rent will be invoiced monthly in advance. The invoices work on a full month basis meaning that you will receive 12 invoices a year. (This compares with other services which may invoice on a 28 day basis meaning you would receive 13 invoices a year.) Are there additional costs? When signing the contract, you will be asked to pay a security deposit equal to one month’s rental unless a direct debit form is completed at move in. Prices do not include GST where applicable. Please note that insurance is not included in the rental rate. You will also be asked to purchase a custom made cylinder style lock which has been designed to provide the highest security for your belongings. What about insurance? Your goods must be insured whilst in storage. We do not provide comprehensive insurance cover, alternatively if you have existing cover you will need to supply a letter of conformation of cover from your insurance broker. When can I access my storage room? Our customers benefit from extensive opening hours. Access is free of charge at all our stores, and the majority of our stores provide unlimited 24 hour access to your storage room. The office at the store is open for any queries Monday to Friday from 10.00am - 7.00pm and Saturday from 10.00am to 6.00pm. How does the online reservation work? Based on your preferred room size you require, our system will propose a number of rooms available. If there are no rooms available that exactly meet your requirements the system will propose alternatives at that time. You can reserve a storage room up to 90 days in advance. A Small Fee is required to make a reservation, you will be required to leave your details and then confirm your reservation within 7 days by visiting the store. How do I order packing materials? Please visit our online packing materials display to order your boxes, bubble wrap, tape and other packing requirements. We cannot as yet deliver packing supplies to you at home, however your order will be ready for you to collect at the store of your choice the day following your order. Payment takes place when you collect your order. How can I pay? Payment can be made by cash (excluding initial payment), cheque, or credit/debit card - either in person or by phone. You can also pay by direct debit. What is the minimum rental period? Is there a maximum? The minimum rental period is two weeks. You can store for as long as you want, there is no maximum rental period. Contracts are automatically renewed on a monthly basis. How quickly can I move in? You can move in on the same day as you make your inquiry providing that you have the relevant documentation needed to complete and sign your contract. This will include photographic ID and a utility bill or bank statement. Payment of a deposit and a full months rental must be made prior to moving in. Please check with your store team. Can I move to another room if I need more or less space? You are welcome to move to another room at any time as your requirements change. How do I cancel a lease? As a customer we require you to give 30 days notice of your intention to vacate your room. Notice must be given in writing either by fax or post directly to the store. You are required to remove your lock and leave your room clean and empty. On completion of your move out a cheque refund will be processed within 30 days for the initial security deposit along with any hire and insurance that was not used. Should you give notice to vacate and then need to stay longer please call us and we can make the necessary arrangements. Can you help me with my removals? Yes. We have partnerships with trusted local removal and van hire companies as well rental equipment and we can either deal directly with them on your behalf or refer you to them to make your own arrangements. Please ask you store team for more information. What kind of security is there? All our stores are monitored by security cameras 24 hours a day. You are the only one with access to your room, which is locked with a specifically designed cylinder type lock owned by you. The lock is unique and only you hold the keys. You use a Proxy Card to access the premises.
